March Break Single Day Art Camp At Vortex Art Studio!

Monday March 5th – creative Art Making- age 5-7
We focus on short mixed media art fundamental, painting, drawing, collage, clay and mixed media! We will also have a Live Music Performance and sing along by Mathew Falvai
Tuesday March 6th – Art Based Crafts 8-10
We focus on art based crafts for a cool bedroom such as Wall hangings, name banners, ready to hang artwork, clay work, paper mashea beads and much more! Please feel free to bring special trinkets to add to the mobile.
Wednesday March 7th – Arts and Crafts! Lets get messy! Age 5-7
Everything you never wanted to clean up at home! Paint, Pastels, Clay, beads and so much more! We focus on short project Arts and crafts. We work inside and outside (based on weather) and make lots of fun messy things!
-Please make sure to bring outdoor gear if its nice out. And a second shirt just incase they get paint on the sleeves during the paint pour activity. We always have smocks but you never know paint is messy!
We focus on creative drawing and painting, abstract, animation, still life drawing & Painting & creative painting. We will be using acrylics, Watercolours and water-soluble pastels and pencils. We will if the weather is nice do landscape drawing outside. Note: The yoga class is hosted by Lori Morrison it is short and purpose is to ease the youth into a mindfull meditation and abstract drawing excursus.
-Please bring gloves for outside drawing and sweat pants for yoga.
Friday March 9th Mixed Media & Art Based Crafts- age 9-14
– Please feel free to bring any beloved pictures and trinkets to add into your artwork if you like.
What to expect from our camp days- We have exciting lesson plans set to ease the kiddos in to art making in a positive environment using a wide variety of tools and supplies. The beginning of our camp days will be based around them becoming familiar with the studio our projects and the supplies by testing them out in sketchbooks and on paper. everyone will work towards an understanding of what it means to make art with unique mixed media materials and how to best portray a message or a story in an unconventional way with different material.Camps are limited attendance maximum 7 students and all projects will be geared towards each students age and ability. They will throughout the day learn that different supplies send different visual messages and the possibilities are as endless as your imagination!
We do supply all of the art materials needed for the art classes but we ask that your children bring:
-A sketch book to record their ideas and visual notes if they have one. If not we have lots of paper 🙂
-CLOTHING THEY CAN GET MESSY! Paint ALWAYS finds its way to nice clothing.. We have lots of smocks but always better to be safe
-Out door clothing such as gloves and scarf, hat – for break time fresh air and a light outdoor activity if weather permits
-Snacks for break Time
-A lunch
-If in Wednesday or Friday class an optional trinket they might like to add to the mobile eg.. a pendent, charm or toy
– If in Monday or Fridays class if they have a few special photos they would like to bring please feel free we ca add them in a collage
-The attached signed registration form* I will also have a hard copy available to sign before class if you don’t have a printer at home.
