We offer one-on-one or private group art classes to all levels.
–Thank you for your interest in Vortex Studio. Due to Covid-19 we have had to make some changes to our studio and at the moment we are not offering any in studio private or group classes in person.
Later in the summer if the ministry of health guidelines change we will be considering offering deck or backyard open air private art sessions.
We are currently offering online private or group zoom classes. All classes come with the art kits needed to follow the class.

We believe that art-making knows no limitations! Everyone is welcome and we’ll work to build a customized lesson plan based on your interest.
Private Classes currently offered run between 1.5-3 hours and are weekly or bi-weekly depending on your availability. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Let us know and maybe we can customize it for you!
Stella Pagani has a Bachelors of Fine Art with a double major in Painting and Photography from OCAD University. She is an active artist and teacher and has shown extensively throughout her career.
Side note- Please be mindful we are using acrylic paint and although each guest is given an apron we do suggest you wear something you wouldn’t mind getting a little messy
Pricing
Private one on one art classes are $35 per hour with a minimum of 1.5 hours. or 2 hours
Children age 4-15
Vortex Art Studio is so excited to offer KIDS ART CLASSES! Ages 4 and up! private or group classes available. We are conveniently located a 3-minute walk from the Wakefield school.
Art is an amazing outlet for children to express themselves non-verbally. It increases critical problem-solving skills and dexterity. Our classes and workshops positively encourage children and teens to learn many different kinds of fine art. As they become more familiar, they’ll increase their ability to critically think and convey their ideas and feelings through a creative artistic practice.
At Vortex Studio we take care of all the materials and clean-up: so you never have to stress the mess!
Basic Beginner art-making for children
Children will learn a variety of creative art outlets such as: painting, drawing, printmaking, collage & mixed media
Painting
Using acrylic & water-colour paint, we focus on depicting and breaking down shapes, perspective, paint handling, and overall familiarity with the tools
Beginner Drawing
Using pencils, charcoal, pastels and pencil crayons. We focus on depicting and breaking down shapes & perspective to become familiar with the tools
Craft
Children will learn a variety of creative craft outlets such as textile printmaking, embroidery, sewing & mixed media
Concept development
Critically think about making artwork and the meanings behind it. We focus on building strong ideas and how to best meaningful portray them in an artwork.
Stress Relief
Art can have a calming effect of children and teens. In this corse we focus on calming independent self directed projects with repudiative motions to relieve stress. Students chose a few artistic styles of interest and we work on developing skill. Styles we will work with include drawing, beading, sewing, Bead looming, watercolour painting, Paper collage, Mandela making and more.
Stella is also available for portfolio review and assistance for college and university applications
Adult age 15+
Overview beginner art making for adults
You will learn a variety of creative art outlets such as painting, drawing, printmaking, collage & mixed media, This is a great way to see what kind of mediums you gravitate towards.
Painting
water-colour or acrylic
We will work on building overall painting skills by examining and challenging our relationship with the tools and paint. We focus on depicting and breaking down shapes, perspective, paint handling and overall concept development.

Mixed media
We will work together to push the boundaries of conventional art making. We will work with: Paint, printmaking, collage, acrylic mediums, fabric, and more to explore texture, ideas, and experience
